Peterhoff; The summer island off the coast of St. Petersburg
The island of Peterhoff is absolutely breathtaking, it was built after the Palace's in France. The entire island is a maze of trees, bushes, and fountains.
As a full professor, I hold certification and licensure in both Art Therapy and certification in Therapeutic Recreation. My dissertation research in Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive functioning and psychosocial well-being was the basis for my first publication; Therapeutic Thematic Arts Programming for the Older Population –THE TTAP METHOD published by Health Professionals Press in December 2006.
In 2006, I was awarded my first Fulbright Senior Specialist Scholarship and was invited to teach this new methodology at Waikato University, New Zealand and Victoria University, in Australia.
In 2009, I was honored to received a second Fulbright Specialist Award through the Finland Fulbright Office to create and teach a certificate course on the TTAP Method to health professionals in Finland through three prestigious Universities.
Currently I am conducting two research studies; one study with individuals diagnosed with mild AD, through Cornell University. The second study is the largest study to date investigating the TTAP method and it’s effects on an entire 40 bed Alzheimer’s Unit at Beechtree Rehabilitation and Care Facility in Ithaca, New York
